Rogers
15 year old All Star teams clinchs State Championship title
The 14/15 yr old all
stars went undefeated to win the state tournament in Little Rock.
This was a great performances by a Rogers’ team of boys aged
14-15. Even more impressive is the tournament was age 16 and under.
You could say that they were in the land of giants.

Rogers played with
dignity & got contributions from every player. Jarred Hall and
Brian Trotter did an awesome job catching in the hot weather, a
tough job at anytime. We had strong pitching from Cody Cawthon, Kyle
Enneking, Quinten Lockridge, Ed Wheeley, and especially Travis
Parsons. Along with, outfield plays from Cody Bennett, Garrett
Abbott, and Jason Papageorge. They played with intensity and reacted
to the ball. Our pitchers were able to keep the batters off balance,
but every outfielder caught at least one fly ball and kept runners
from advancing. Our defense was awesome. Shawn Davidson made a super
play at first base catching a ball up high and just catching the
batter on the foot. Alex Samples had a tremendous play in game 4 at
short stop that saved a run at the plate. We had these types of
plays in every game.
We had some close
games with one going into extra innings; however, these boys would
not give up. Last but not least, our coaching staff, head coach
Cliff Peachey, and assistant coaches Roger Abbott, Bill Bennett, and
Chad Peachey provided a solid game plan and we saw the results. One
of the best performances witnessed in recent years. They did not let
the boys get down and made sure they were in position. We were
salty, as they would say, giving Rogers good reason to be proud of
this team! T
Rogers
10 and 12 year old All Star teams clinch State Championship titles
Although they arrived
home to Rogers Sunday night from different locations, the Rogers 10
year old and 12 year old All Star teams each carried home the 1st
place trophy and the title of USSSA Allstar State Champions.
The Rogers 10 year
old All Star team spent the weekend in Little Rock taking on
challengers from all over the region. The bleachers were a sea of
Rogers Blue and white as the player’s families and fans
represented our town in record numbers. The bats were at work all
weekend and so was the defensive unit on the field. After 3 games on
Saturday in 100 degree heat, the boys were seeded #1 going into the
Championship game Sunday at 3:00pm. With the help of some
outstanding pitching by Will Lancett and Jack Flanagan in the
Championship game the All Stars defeated the Greenwood Diamond Dawgs
14-1. Coaches Jack Myers and Randy Crossno praised their team for
playing hard from the first inning and never letting up. "It
was a great weekend and a real confidence builder for our
boys."

Meanwhile, the Rogers
12 year olds played fast and furious all weekend in Greenwood,
Arkansas beating teams by an average of 7 runs per game. Things
changed a bit in the Championship game when the All Stars found
themselves down 9-0 in the fourth inning. With Justin Carr hitting a
home run shot over the center field fence the turning point began,
one hit after another the Rogers All Stars were able to capture the
lead, scoring 12 runs in one inning. The Opplelo Redbirds answered
back and put another 5 runs on the board but the Allstars weren’t
done yet. In their last at bat, the All Stars clinched the
championship game and the state title by putting another 3 runs on
the board for a final score of 18-15. Coaches Mike Buttrey and Chad
Audlehelm never lost faith in their team and were proud of the
effort the boys put forward. Outstanding pitching from Justin (now
you see it – now you don’t) Carr, Josh (Bacon) Bush and Grant
(G-Money) Washburn solidified the win as well as 3, count them, 1,
2, 3 homeruns by Justin Carr.
